Preact’s Editable Quick Forms Solution - It’s really useful if you want to update information that’s coming from a related entity.
In this scenario I’m on an account form, and we’ve got a relationship to a contact here, which is Jake. He is the primary contact for this organisation.
Because we have linked the account to Jake here, we then get to see information on his individual contact record below.
We can customise fields which appear here in the quick form that we’re referencing in the solution.
The good thing about this solution, is that if we needed to go and update his information, we wouldn’t need to navigate away from our account form, to go and update his record.
We could come in here *clicks “Mobile Phone” field and add a mobile number in here. Or, we could change his surname to Bowles.
Once we make changes in the quick form, we can then click save, and that will go away and save the details to his contact record and show that “The record was updated successfully”.
If we click into Jake’s record from here, and it takes us now to his contact form, you can see the changes we made are now saved here. His name is now Bowles and there is the mobile number we put in.
It will save those without you having to navigate away from the form.
How it Works

As the video thumbnail image above shows, this solution could be used to place an editable quick form for the primary contact to an account form. As a result, these field values for this contact can be updated directly from the account without a need to open the main contact records.
This is just one example to demonstrate its use. The solution has endless possibilities; it can work on any two linked entities. This allows users to update a customer's contact details from a case form, or even adjust project delivery time frames for custom project entities, directly from a related opportunity record.
