This latest mobile application is developed by Microsoft and built on the Power Platform in contrast to the legacy application that was built with technology by Resco.
No new features or investments are being made in the legacy app and Microsoft says it will reach end of life by June 2022. From June 2021, all new deployments must use the latest Field Service (Dynamics 365) mobile app.
The Dynamics 365 Field Service licence provides access to both mobile apps. The new app can be downloaded from mobile app stores and is tested with D365 Field Service v8.8.22.x onwards. This works on phones and tablets, and is supported on iOS 13+ and Android 8+.
As a Power Platform solution, the new app uses the Unified Interface for a consistent experience across web and mobile, which provides full integration with Power Apps and Dynamics 365 apps.
Unified administration is provided in the Power Platform Admin Center and app management through Windows Intune is supported.
